It is not a secret that the supply of Xbox Game Studios throughout 2022 has not been the largest in the industry. In total, only five games have been published by this company, of which only sentiment, Obsidian title that will be available in a couple of days, is completely new. This is something that not only the public has noticed, but Phil Spencer, Chief of Xbox, is also aware.
In a talk in the Same Brain program, Spencer accepts that the 2022 offer was not as strong as expected, but promises that next year it will be much better . This was what he said about it:
One thing that we have definitely heard high and of course is that it has been too long since we launched what people would say that it is a great game of their own.
We can have our excuses with Covid and other things, but in the end I know that people invest in our platform and want to have great games.
We are excited about 2023, and we have talked about the games that are coming. These games are working well [and] we are out of what Covid did with the production program.
And as an industry, we have fewer games on these vacations than we have had in a long time, when you only think about the releases. Call of Duty approaches, God of War approaches, which is great, Nintendo has had a good year. But in general I would say that we have been a bit light.
But I look at 2023 and there is a great list of games to come that excites me. Getting our first real Xbox games of Bethesda, sending them with Red fall and Star field, will be very fun.
Throughout 2022, Xbox Game Studios gave us as Dusk Falls, an expansion of forza horizon 5, a relaunch of Age of Empires, grouse did, which was for two years in early access, and it is expected that sentiment will be available the next November 15. However, next year we will not only see the launch of _star field, the next great Bethesda project, but the company promises more surprises.
In related issues, Spencer speaks about Call of Duty's exclusivity again in Xbox. Similarly, the growth of Xbox Game Pass on consoles has decreased.
Editor's note:
While the games were not the emphasis this year, remember that Game Pass is also a big business for Xbox. At this point, the offer in PC grew substantially. However, it is also true that in consoles we did not see great growth.
